"What would you do if I were gone?" Yukimura asks one day, out of the blue. He's sitting with his knees pulled up to his chest and his arms circling them, cheek resting against the fabric of his uniform pants.
And Sanada just... doesn't know what to say.
"If you were gone," he repeats. "If you were gone?"
Yukimura watches as Sanada's face suddenly takes on this odd, lost expression and he lets out a hesitant laugh.
"Yukimura. That won't happen. Don't talk like that."
Seiichi makes a low noise in the back of his throat, though Sanada doesn't know what it means.
But he remembers it, when Yukimura is gone.
