you know you are becoming more independent when you have the responsibility of chasing bugs out of your own room. usually bugs and creepy crawlies are my father's business in the house. but here, if there's a bug, it's up to ME to get rid of it. and so i've been swatting out houseflies and picking up ladybirds. thankfully they're easy bugs to handle which is probably one good thing about london - there are no nasty cockroaches or lizards or swarms of ants or ugly black beetles. so far it has only been a few meek flies and a yellow ladybird. which was pretty enough to have me considering leaving in my room but it started walking on my clothes so i picked it up and let it out the window. yes pretty insects are ok i think. goodness knows what i'll do if i find a cockroach in my room. and my room is so small if i tried to spray it with repellent i might end up suffocating myself to death too.
