Love isn't an emotion or a feeling. Love is the desire, the wish for another being's happiness--on their own terms, in their own way. Real love tears you apart, makes you soft, cracks open your dry heart to get at the wetness inside. I think there's too much confusion, too much emphasis placed on the crazy part of love, possessiveness and attachment and attraction; it distracts us from what it truly means to love one another.

Tell someone you love them, today, that you wouldn't necessarily have told otherwise, let them know that you value their presence and wish for them to be happy. They'll appreciate it. And, eventually, so will you.
