For a 7.4 rating, I found the movie to be not quite upto the mark. I guess that is because I liked the book so much..
About A Boy, the book was easy reading, and really well written. The part about having more people in your life, and no just one you centre your life around, that was well written. You need a dynamic pyramid, and most of that should be composed of people in your life, and occasionally, if you do end up losing one or two, it can still be stable.
"If other people can make you happy, they can also make you unhappy."
Even though it is a feel good movie, and pretty well made, I was a little bit disappointed that the ending did not quite match the book. Although I did appreciate that they didnt make it a cheesy romantic flick-type ending. It was also a little sad that Marcus learns how to be a child after all.. he does lose that uniqueness a bit.
