UPDATED! Scroll down for Saturday's stuff.

Hey all, I just got back from the con and it was teh AWESOME!

Friday:

Got up early, drove over to Sam's house, waiting a couple hours cuz Frankie was late. So he finally got home, we threw stuff into the stupid smart box and off we went. I was so anixous, I didn't know what to expect. We stopped somewhere close to the border and Frankie made Sam put her gun in a garbage bag because he wasn't going to take a toy gun over the border. So while he went to mail his package, we ate some cheese sticks and sat around.

We eventually made it to the hotel around 5:30, so the con had already been running for a while. Stupid rich hotel with people to take your stuff for you and everything. It was really convinient because the hotel was directly connected to the convention centre. The first obviously anime fan person we saw had a cute black neko hat on and sam yelled, "Dude, I love your hat." at him and he gave her the peace sign. He was so obviously gay.

So our room was on the 4th floor, outta...DAMMIT! Ok, those elevators make you so nausious(sp?) because they go so fast. There were 25 floors, and if just going to the 4th made me quisey, then I wanted to test what going to the 25th would do, but I forgot! *cries* Anyways, yeah, so we got into the room and i went to take my eyes out(contacts) and sam put on her Pazu costume, and then off we went!

We found the line to get our passes and followed it to the end. Little did we know that the lines practically stretched across half the convention centre. I was thinking, "The line never ends!" So we finally found the end, way on the other side of the convention centre. We were close to the Gaia gathering, so Sam ran off to go annouce herself. She said hi and then we went back to spend a couple hours in line. The hallway was so narrow and with all those people, it was boiling. People occasionally passed by, handing out flyings and such. I remembered that I had forgotten my camera, so Sam ran back up to the hotel and got it. While she was gone, this unbelievably sweaty guy passed out forms you have to fill out to get a pass. It was so gross, he looked like he had been dunked in a pool. He spat on me when he spoke to me. >_< So I borrowed some guys pen and filled it out, and Sam came back and got one and filled hers out. We eventually got out of the hot corridor and out into the wide open lobby, but there was still some way to go. I got cold because I was wearing my wings. I also wore Sam's Shinobi headband and I gauzed up my arm. The sweaty guy came back now and then, herding the line towards the wall. Then, we entered...THE MAZE! Yeah, just a barrier maze to get to the pass giving people. Justin came back from eating dinner with Frankie and he wanted to cut but we wouldn't let him. So we FINALLY got our passes, $45, and were free of the line.

Then we went up to the dealers room to look around. They hole punched out passes at the bottom of the escaltors and then we were allowed to go up. The place was huge! So much anime stuff, it was overwhelming. While browsing, we found this awesome guy dressed up as Neo walking around with a guitar strapped onto him. While I rushed to get my camera out, sam asked him to play something. "So whaddya wanna hear?" "Know any Beatles?" *Neo starts playing Day Tripper* I got a nice picture of him. He's my hero! So ya, I refrained from buying anything on Friday. Better stuff is sold on Saturday and prices are better on Sunday. We went and saw the Wounded Man guy. He was bored and whipping elastics at cosplayers with bare shoulders, and I got worried because I was wearing a tank top. But he didn't hit me so I stayed and looked through the manga. Then we headed over to Artists' Alley and looked at all the stuff. Some of those people's art is so amazing, it's crazy. Some people had this life sized plushie thing of the character in their comic book and it looked really weird, but Sam was amused. There were all types of artists, like these spray paint artists who spray painted cool designs on trucker hats. There were also people who made buttons and couple people who made hats. A really cool person with blue hair who made hats was giving 50% of each hat sold to some Toronto Wildlife thing. She had articles all over the table about poor animals and stuff.

So we left and went back to the hotel room, cooked up some noodles to have for supper. I don't quite remember how we got onto the subject, but Frankie and I started arguing about the Bible and faith and God. He didn't believe me when I said it says in Leviticus it says you can't eat shellfish. I had just heard it from Queer as Folk, so I didn't know exactly where it is, but after scanning through the crap, I found it. Apparently we're not supposed to eat pig either. It specifically said, you shall not eat fish without fins and scales, which includes shellfish. And then we went to sleep.

Saturday:

Ok so the con started at 10, so we planned on getting up around 8. I don't think we would have woken up if Frankie hadn't gotten up. So he took a shower, then we willed J.Lo to, then Sam then me last because I had to style my hair. Sam ate in her Irvine costume but I didn't put my cosplay on until after breakfast. The restaurant at the hotel just happened to be the most expensive restaurant in Toronto...and Frankie made me eat there. Frankie went and ate bacon to make fun of me for finding out that we couldn't eat it(although I'm corrected by Marc, he has informed me that don't have to abide by all that crap in leviticus). So afterwards we went back to the hotel room and I got my costume on without breaking it(YAY!), though the halo was pretty tricky. Sam had to make a string out of tape to secure it to my head. The only downside was that I couldn't look up or else the halo would fall off.

And we were off, camera ready in hand for picture taking! We went back to the lobby cuz that's where everyone hung out. So many groups of people just scattered everywhere, sitting on the floor(carpeted ^^). I was pretty shy at first, but I the urge to take pictures of all the cool costumes got the better of me. I got my picture taken a few times too, but Sam got hers taken more because she was a more popular character. Everyone was so nice and really cool.

Sam REALLY wanted to take a picture with a moose. If you didn't already know, Toronto at one point had moose statues scattered around the city. I had seen them before around the CN tower. So anyways, we went looking for one. Sam refused to J walk, so we walked up to the lights to cross the street to go to the CBC building, because apparently there was a moose there. Before we could cross, Sam saw a mounty and had to get a picture with her. Once we crossed, sam wanted a picture with the Glen Gould statue. We looked around for a moose but all we found was another statue of a random construction worker. So we got a picture with it and headed back to the convention centre. On the way, some random people came up and glomped Sam, stating that they had never seen an Irvine worth glomping before.

We were getting pretty hot(I can't complain. Sam's just lucky the lining of her coat wasn't in.) so we went back up to the hotel. We sat around for a while to cool off and that when we pulled out Sam's sketch book to make signs. Justin didn't cosplay, so we made his sign say:
Yes, I'm in cosplay. I'm by-stander #42 from Wounded Man
(I have never read Wounded Man)

Sam's sign said:
Can someone please direct me to a moose?

And my sign had a picture of Gir on it and it said:
Yay, We're doomed!

Then we went up into the dealers room. Now was the time to spend some cash! $_$ I bought Tsubasa issue #2, a rainbow pin that said "Hate is not a family value", one of those hats where 50% of the funds went to help animals(just so I could save the animals! I made Sam buy one too, but she probably would have bought it anyways.), and a Haibane Renmei wall scroll. We visited the Wounded Man guy again and Sam was hoping to buy one of those Tofu blocks they had been selling. Unfortunately they were all out.

After buying and browsing, we went back downstairs and found Gaia people. We sat there doodling and talking for a while, and then decided to go watch the AMVs(Anime Music Video). We went as a group and the AMVs were pretty cool to watch. They showed a couple miscellanious ones, and then category ones, like best dramatic video, etc. There was this one video, and the music was techno, and it was so cool. It was seizurific and had so many different animes in it. I recognized most of them, but some of them I didn't. They were really cool and I really want to make an AMV now. Anyways, so when they were over, we were like, "Hmmm...this is where they're holding the maquerade...Let's just wait here till it starts!" So Sam, a Gaia guy, some other people and I took the front row in the balcony and waited. The guys working on the set didn't mind us. The Gaia dude went searching through the rows for stuff people forgot. He found some manga, Canadian Idol stickers, some other cool stickers and some other stuff. The owner of the manga came back for it, but Sam called dibs on it if no one claimed it. I opened up my Tsubasa issue and read it while we waiting, but then some guys came and crashed our party. They made us get out and go wiat in line.

I was worried that we wouldn't be able to get in since the line was so long. But luckily, the Gaia people got a good spot in line and we cut in with them. We taped the Gaia gathering sign onto Jedi Megaman's stick and marched around the convention centre, chanting, "GAIA! GAIA! GAIA!" or occasionally yelling out, "Angelic Sin!" He said he would be going to the Gaia gathering on the forums and everyone wanted to meet him but people had only seen him in the elevators. Heading towards the hotel, we finally found him. Satisfied and a couple Gaians bigger, the group went back to their spot in line and waited. Pan Chan, the lelola person, passed buy and talked with us. Her cosplay was awesome, even if it was from yu-gi-oh. You'll see what I mean when I figure out how I'm going to show you all my pics.

So we ended up getting good seats down low, closer to the stage than we had been up in the balcony. They were having technical difficulties and we had to wait a LONG time. Angelic Sin was doodling and I asked him to show me what he was drawing. It was really good and he noticed my Gir sign(taped to my back). We talked about Invader Zim for a bit, then I talked to Yuki for a while. It was getting pretty boring and we started chanting, "Masquerade! Masqerade!"(We were always the only ones chanting, everyone else just stared.) It started eventually and the annoucer guy came on. He was hilarious! Him and he witty remarks after every act. Some guy from the audience kept hitting on him. So funny. And after every act with hot girls in it, he'd say, "I LOVE my job." And one time, Yuki yelled out, "NEVER!" during one of those silences after laughter. I forget why she yelled it, but yeah, he said, "*laughs* Yes. There'll be laughter and then a silence, and then some lone voice will speak out. Go all you lone voices out there!" And he was complaining that when he does Canadian Idol he doesn't get pocky, and some Gaia guy had a box of pocky and we passed it down the rows up to the front. It never got to him, but meh. And one time, he's like, "You guys are such a different audience from last year. How many have been to CN Anime before?" *people cheer* " Ok, how many of you are here for the first time?" *louder cheering* "Whoa, we've got alot of virgins this year." *really loud laughing* "Uh...Oh come on! Your minds are so far in the gutter...I didn't mean it THAT way!" And then another time people were screaming so loud, actually that happened alot, but one time he spoke and said, "My god, just now, some dog in (insert far away city here) did this." *perks head up really quick and looks around, jerking head* But yeah, I hope you get the point. He was really funny and said a lot more. I tried to get a pic of every act, but most of the pics are blurry and some were so blurry I just deleted them. Like you won't see one of Wolverine. He ran up the steps and then tripped while exiting.

So went up to the hotel room and ordered a pizza. We were starving, having skipped lunch. I finished a comic Sam made me do while we were waiting for the masquerade to start. It's called, "Attack of the Tofu Blocks!" It stars the Wounded Man guy. So yeah, we outlined it and coloured it in with sharpies. And then we went to sleep.

Sunday:

We got up a bit later on Sunday. We were all pretty tired. Frankie got up and went to get Tim Hortons. Sam and Justin went on sleeping, but I couldn't get back to sleep. Frankie came back with orange juice and bagel later and we made Justin go take a shower. Sam and I each had half a bagel because we both detested cream cheese. While sam was taking a shower, Frankie was watching this religious show. I think Frankie thinks I'm like, an aethist or pagan or something like that. He keeps telling me God loves me and kept making fun of me during the show. The guy on the TV was talking about how it's better to have testimonies and titles. Anyways, so then I took a shower and we packed up everything. We had a hard time getting an elevator because they were all packed. We took our stuff out to the truck before going to the con. Today Sam just wore her PJs because she didn't pack any normal clothes. -_-'

We spent most of Sunday in the dealer's room. Sunday's the blow out sales day. I got XXX Holic 2, Tuxedo 2 and Fushigi Yuigi 2 for $25 at the Wounded Man guy's place. We showed him our Attack of the Tofu comic too. It was then that I realised that the Wounded Man guy's associate looked ALOT like Tom. Sam didn't believe me so we went back and it hit her too. The resemblance is uncanny. There was so much stuff I wanted to get, but I refrained from spending anymore of my money. I wanted to get volume 2 of Invader Zim and a Gir T-shirt, but the Gir T-shirt only came in a medium size and I didn't want to spend the rest of my money because I want to make a good Squall costume for the next con. So today we did a more elborate search of the dealer's room. During our browsing, the power went out and everyone cheered. I was sad because they were showing Invader Zim episodes on a mini TV and I wanted to go back watch some more, but I couldn't. The horror section was pretty freaky. There were people selling novels and people selling viles of blood. There was this big screen TV playign a preview to a movie coming out soon. It was some movie making fun of Dawn of the Dead, I forget what the name was. I'll go find out later, it was on a free button I got.

We visited artists alley again and we were wearing the hats that we had bought before so the girl with blue hair recognised us. Sam was wearing her Pazu goggles with the hat and she really like the addition to it. Come to think of it, everyone loved her goggles. Everyone asked her where she got them. The weird guy was there again. We had actually met him on Saturday, but I forgot to mention it. He was very...forward. He shoved the comic book right in Sam's face and yeah...he was really weird. Ask Sam about it. On Friday, there had been a sign at Artist's Alley, telling us to go visit the artists on the other side of the escaltors, and we obeyed the sign. I forgot to mention this when I was typing up Friday. One person there was selling T-shirt for this organization against censorship. There were these other yaoi people. We visited them again on Sunday. They had a sign saying their stuff was rated R, viewer discretion advised blahblahblah. Yeah, some of it was bad, but meh. So after wandering around for a long time, we went back down for a break. We got bored and went back up to the dealers room again. They restored power slowly.

I didn't take many pictures on Sunday, but I did get to hug Baba Fett! And Sam stole the Gingerbread Man's gum drop button! And we got pictures with mounties on horses too. That's about all that happened on Sunday. We went to the Gaia meet again and some Gaian had us fill out a survey on making an Anime Theatre in Toronto. I'd definately go to one if there was one in Ottawa.

So yeah, we said goodbye to the Gaians and left. I felt sad, but happy that I got to experience this. It was so great. I can't wait for the next con. Ok, quickly before QaF comes on, we stopped at a sushi place for lunch, but I refused to eat. Frankie and I argued some more over America and Canada. America just ahs titles, Canada has testimonies! All Frankie would let me buy him was a coffee, so I finally gave up and repaying him. He's too damn generous. So got home around 10. It was so much fun. g2g watch QaF now, BYE!
