being prolific

"It was an enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and purpose, and as part of a search for something believed in and desired." Paulo Coelho

Over the summer i remember looking in Tim McCrite's book on containers and boxes, thinking about many of them but one in particular that i'd really love to see in person. On monday we had a visiting artist who creates containers... her piece took her over a year and a half to finish and it was in that book i was looking at over the summer. in fact it was one of my very favorite peices, it was called "mississippi pearl box". To just merely describe it would to do it a disjustice http://www.silversmithing.com/cwolf.htm much more breath taking in person and color. Cappy,http://www.fna.muohio.edu/craftsummer/Images/Week2Images/Week2Images-Pages/Image0.html, seated with jean apron had such a zeal for her art and teaching that it made me really think about teaching seriously. I love what i do and i wouldn't want to do anything else but i think that the reason that i love what i do is not only the process but the communication that goes on between students and teachers and from the material to the artist and vice versa. I just never feel like i can be prolific enough, i guess what i really want from life is to do a fraction of the work that's in my head for lack of time and love every second of sucess and failure equally. With all of that said, I miss painting.
