Shida was standing under the school lobby’s roof staring at the pouring rain.
Flashback
“Pleeeaaaaaseeeee… can you do the classroom cleaning after school today? Chinen asked me to go eat out with him after school~”
Umika was begging her, Shida could see the excitement on her best friend’s face. Everybody knows by now that those two have some chemistry between them.
“Why don’t you tell him to go tomorrow then?” shida replied lazily.
“Today is his only day off… you know they’re busy preparing for the winter tour…” Umika pouted.
“Fine… fine… I’ll take care of your shift today…” Shida said finally, she didn’t want to disappoint Umika. Besides, Umika has always been a good friend to her.
“kyaaaaa~ Thanks a lot!!! I will treat you crepes next time!! You can order as much as you want, it’s all on me!!!” Umika said, with a big smile on her face.
Shida sighed, she didn’t know that it would rain later on that day, she didn’t bring an umbrella. She couldn’t do anything but wait until the rain slows down.
She owes me big!! That girl!! Having fun while I’m stuck at school after all the cleaning I did, not to mention that it’s already 5pm, and it’s freezing cold too!!
Then she heard a group of boys walking towards the school gate and she spotted Yamada. Apparently, they were just finished from soccer practice which ended early because of the pouring rain.
Yamada saw and walked towards Shida after saying his goodbyes to his soccer club mates.
“You are still at school this late?” Yamada said.
“Ah yes… today I filled in Umika’s shift for class cleaning, cuz she has something to do… but it’s raining now, so I’m just waiting until it slows down…”
“Do you want to go home together? I brought an umbrella…” Yamada smiled at her.
“Ah… no it’s okay, I can just wait…”
“Our houses are close to each other anyway, let’s go. Besides, it’s getting dark now and the rain seems that it won’t stop soon” Yamada insisted.
“Ah okay then…” Shida said finally, because she’s kinda scared too if she has to wait at school in the dark by herself.
Shida didn’t know why she felt so doki doki. They were walking pretty close to each other, even though she tried her best not to walk too close to Yamada. She was afraid that he could hear her heartbeats. The rain was pouring even harder and it made half of her clothes wet.
All of a sudden she felt Yamada’s arm on her shoulder, pulling her towards him closer. At that time, Shida felt that she could faint any minute. Her face was as red as strawberry.
“Stand closer, if not you’ll get soaked even more…” Yamada said calmly
Shida didn’t want to imagine how many fangirls would kill her for being this close to “the” Yamada Ryosuke.
They finally reached the train station, with 60% of their clothes soaked. The umbrella didn’t help much especially with two people using it in a hard pouring rain. They sat on the train next to each other.
“Haaaatchuuuuw~” Shida sneezed. It was so cold outside, plus her clothes was half soaked, and she didn’t wear any extra jacket outside her uniform.
Next thing she knows, Yamada took off his school jacket and put it over her shoulder.
“Ehh?” Shida said in shock.
“You must be cold~ just use my jacket”
“But you’re gonna feel cold…”
“I’m fine~ it’s okay…” Yamada gave her a really warm smile. Shida felt like she didn’t even need any jacket anymore because her body was burning hot of embarrassment.

The rain finally stopped after they got off the train, even though the sky was still very cloudy. They were walking next to each other. Shida couldn’t help but to look at Yamada’s face every single time she got a chance to do so.
Now I know why those girls are so crazy over him, he is indeed… very handsome…
Shida was blushing until all of a sudden Yamada broke her thoughts.
“Anoo… I think we are being stalked by some fans now, those girls behind us have been following us since we left the train station” Yamada whispered.
“EH?! What should we do then?” Shida went panicked, because she doesn’t want to get caught being all close with Yamada. It’s her life we’re talking about. She doesn’t want to die at early age, because fangirls can be crazy these days.
“On my marks, run and follow me okay” Yamada said suddenly.
“Eh?” But before she could think of anything, Yamada had started to count.
“1… 2… 3… run!!”
They started to run and the fans were still trying to follow them. Shida was trying her best to follow Yamada, but the road was slippery because of the rain and her school shoes didn’t really help much.
Suddenly, Yamada took her hand… they were now holding hands and running together. They ran towards the shopping mall and went into the theater. The theater was packed, and they were hiding behind the wall. The fangirls couldn’t find them inside the packed theater lobby, but they were smart enough to wait in front of the entrance and wait for them to get out.
“What are we gonna do now?” Shida whispered.
“Let’s just get into one of the theater, it’s safer that way, they’re not gonna find us in there. I’m sure they will give up if we didn’t come out in two hours” Yamada replied.
So then, Yamada bought tickets from the tickets machine and they both went into one of the theaters carefully. The theater was packed, nobody noticed them because people were busy watching the movie.
Shida thinks that it was the most uncomfortable condition to watch a movie ever. Her clothes were still half soaked, the theater’s air conditioner was very cold, but she still had Yamada’s jacket on her which made her body somewhat warmer…
After the movie ended, just as Yamada has predicted, the fangirls were gone and they went out of the theater safely.

It was almost 9pm when they finally reached the intersection near their houses.
“Ah, I’ll see you tomorrow at school then~” Shida said shortly.
“I will walk you to your house…” Yamada replied.
“But your house is the other way…”
“It’s already night time, you shouldn’t walk by yourself…” Yamada was so persistent.
Shida was blushing on their way to her house. She was so thankful that it was so dark that night, otherwise, Yamada could’ve easily seen her red face.
After they reached the front door, Shida’s mom opened the door and sighed in relief.
“Where have you been? You know what time is it? I was so worried that something happened, and you didn’t even pick up your cell phone” Shida’s mom said.
“I’m sorry, my phone battery died” Shida replied, she felt bad, because she didn’t notice her mom that she would come home late.
“I’m sorry it was all my fault…” Yamada said to Shida’s mom.
“Eh? Yamada kun?” Shida’s mom just noticed Yamada’s presence.
Then Yamada explained what happened and Shida’s mom understood their situation. She finally went back into the house and leaving the two to say their goodbyes.
Shida felt so awkward and didn’t know what to say. They both remained silent until Yamada talked to her.
“Sorry about today, I was supposed to walk you home but…” Yamada looked down because he felt bad of what happened.
“Well, you DID walk me home, and I arrived safely” Shida smiled looking at worried Yamada.
“Thanks a lot~” Shida said again.
“Ano… mmm… well, today’s movie was not as… um… enjoyable… so… to make it up to you for what happened today… “ Yamada talked awkwardly and his face was as red as tomato.
“So I was thinking… um… maybe we can watch another movie… properly… this weekend?” Yamada finally finished his sentence.
“Are you asking me on a date?” Shida said. She was just teasing Yamada by asking that question, because she couldn’t resists to tease that shy blushing face.
“Well, ah… mm… I don’t know… maybe you could say that” Yamada replied awkwardly again.
“No!” Shida said suddenly
“Eeeh?! Why?” Yamada asked. He was kinda shock that he got rejected.
“Cuz you’re not even sure why you asked me out to watch a movie” Shida was laughing in her mind, she obviously wanted to say yes, but she also wanted to tease Yamada more.
“I’m gonna get in now, it’s getting late. Jaa ne~” Shida said and gave him a smile.
But apparently, Yamada took it seriously. Even before Shida could take a step, he pulled her hand and next thing she knows, she felt Yamada’s warm lips on hers…
“I want you… ” Yamada said softly while pulling his lips from Shida’s
“There… I said my reason to ask you out…”
“I want you… how many more times do you want me to say it until you will say yes?” Yamada said again.
Shida felt that her heartbeat could stop any second. She was so shocked and speechless. She never expects that Yamada would confess to her… EVER… in her life.
“I… I… I…” words just didn’t come out from Shida’s mouth.
Yamada cornered her against the wall before she could say anything and kissed her one more time. But this time, the kiss was more relaxing and warmer…
I just got this idea to write Yamashi fic.. xP
sorry if the ending is a little bit lame, I'm so bad at writing ending for my fics.
I got the idea mainly from NYC Boys' song NYC... ~muahahaha
