the death of unofficial
for those of you who didn't know, the university has decided to eliminate unofficial. pretty much everything i would want to say in regards to this is amusing illustrated here.
if you don't want to read the whole thing, namely:
-you are the university faculty, not student's mother. you should teach, not tell us what we can and can't do with our free time
-you are not going to stop a traditon this old by simply saying "hey kids, stop that." now people are just going to drink unsupervised (instead of under sober bartenders/bouncers who know cpr and whatnot)
-nothing is said about homecoming, when more incidents happen, because the university makes money off of it.
i'm kind of excited to see what people come up with next year in its place.
