I apologize if this distracts from those positively awful things going on in that jungle, but I dare say we could use a bit of a distraction, no? If no pon- ah, person minds, I'd like to ask a question of you non-ponies out there ( Read more... )

Non-ponies, yes. Or are there only ponies and humans here?

[Kay's never met a talking pony before--or anything with eyes that large, really. Give her a second or two, and she'll do the necessary mental shrug that's starting to come along with each noticeably non-human being she comes across.]

...I've met a few people who probably wouldn't be classified as either.

[A talking pony. Well, at least it's friendly, as far as she can tell.]

So what kind of fashion d'you want to know about? Anything from where I'm from, or...?

What kind of people are they?

[Rarity hadn't had much experience with all these bipedal things before. Zebras, buffalo, and the occasional griffin, but this was still so new to her.]

I'd like to hear about all kinds of fashion. I would hope that you have some sort of high fashion, but with all these humans and things around, it wouldn't hurt to know about everything.

[Oh boy, another one.]

Clothes can be as fancy or as boring as the person wearing it likes. But it does have to cover a certain amount of skin or it doesn't count.

Or it doesn't count? Why wouldn't it count?

Well... [Is she really explaining nudity taboos to a pony?] A pony doesn't have to wear clothes, right?

[Yes, unfortunately so.] Not always, but it does make one look better if styled well.

Hey, hey, hey. My clothes are not drab, you know.

I should hope there's someone with good taste around here. People seem to be laid back when it comes to fashion.

If I was laid back about it, I wouldn't be a very good designer.

What kind of design do you prefer? I tend towards a more classic style myself, but I do so love the avant garde.

Fashion is simply marvelous once you get into it. With the right outfit, a little makeup, and a styled mane, you could be anything you wanted to be!

Yes, really. Something as simple as an accessory or a beautiful dress could change how you feel about yourself, even if just for a day. There's so many possibilities with fashion!

She sounds quite lovely!

[Konatsu might sound a little disapproving.] 'Non-ponies'?

[She's a little skeptical herself.] Well, there are two ponies here and then there are people. I've heard them called humans. But are all of those two-legged things human?

[...] Birds only have two legs, as well, you realize.

But birds normally have wings. Humans have something else that they use.
