Gabrielle is out walking, without any particular destination. There is a bag slung over her shoulder containing the sign she has made for Zara, which she intends to deliver eventually, but for now she is simply exploring the grounds, enjoying herself. She carries one of her own fans, an elaborate creation of cream-coloured silk, lace, and ribbon.

"Hey, kid." And it's Spade, there as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn't been gone for a week, as if the circumstances hadn't radically changed since last they spoke. He smiles a bit. "Looks like you're having a good time."

[rareradiance]

"I am." She smiles. "I always do, when I've any say in the matter." She seems largely unconcerned at not having seen him recently, although whether it is truth or affectation is anyone's guess.

[mancalledspade]

"That's a refreshing way to be. And it seems like you're managing, for now." He tilts his head. "What're you up to?"

[rareradiance]

"Nothing in particular, though eventually I have a delivery to make."

[mancalledspade]

"Oh? Keeping busy then. Congratulations - better than I've done."

[rareradiance]

"Then what have you been up to?" Curiosity -- she is always curious.

[mancalledspade]

"Ain't much detecting to be done, so I went on a short vacation."

[rareradiance]

"Ah. Where to?"

[mancalledspade]

"California. South of San Fransisco, here and there, and not in my own time."

[rareradiance]

"Has it changed much?"

[mancalledspade]

"Yeah. Louder - all the modes of transportation keep gettin' louder. But booze is legal again, so that's something."

[rareradiance]

"A vast improvement, certainly." She smiles.

[mancalledspade]

"Can't say there's never any progress. So, you been up to anything interesting besides work and wandering around like a nymph in the woods?"

[rareradiance]

A shrug. "Painting, a little."

[mancalledspade]

"Really? What'dyou paint?"

[rareradiance]

"Oh -- a sunset, only. The sort of thing that doesn't take much thought." And one portrait, done from memory, but she is in far too good a mood to wish to discuss that today.
