Pansy groaned, leaning back and stretching against her chair. Her back ached and her feet hurt. It had been a long day, and a glance at the clock told her that she still had a ways to go. A loud sneeze escaped her.

“Hanging in there?” Percy asked, stopping in front of her desk. He arched a brow at her.

Pansy felt her cheeks turn red. “Er, yes, sorry about that.”

“You don’t look so good.”

Pansy felt like she wanted to die. She had been crushing on the uptight Weasleys for weeks now, and she had been waiting for him to notice her. And of course, he notices her when she looks like a mess.

“Pansy?” He prompted when she didn’t respond.

“Sorry!” She blurted out. “No, I’m definitely coming down with a cold, but I didn’t want to take a sick day. Especially with all the meetings and appointments scheduled for today, I didn’t want-”

“Slow down,” Percy said with a laugh. “You don’t have to explain yourself. I was just saying you don’t look great.”

“Yeah, I’m going to make a cup of tea in a moment. Hopefully that should help.”

“I have an extra Pepperup Potion at my desk, if you’d like it.”

Pansy’s eyes lit up. “Oh, yes! That would actually be great, Percy, thank you!”

“I’ll be right back.”

As Percy headed back to his desk, Pansy tried to think of something to say for when he came back. She wanted to ask him… Merlin, she wanted to make plans with Percy. She wanted to do something with him outside of work.

When Percy returned, she still found herself struggling with words. She didn’t want to be too forward, but she didn’t want to let this chance of interactions go by.

“Here you go,” Percy said, handing her the potion.

“Thank you,” she said.

“You know, there’s a small soup and sandwich place down the street. We could head there during lunch break, if you’d like?”

“Together?” she squeaked, gripping the potion tightly.

“Yeah, if that’s okay,” Percy said, offering her a small smile.

“Yes!” she said before realising that she shouldn’t sound so desperate. “I mean, yes, Percy, that sounds nice.”

He smiled warmly at her. “Well, hopefully the potion helps, and I’ll see you in a few hours.”

“See you, Percy,” she murmured, returning his smile. She watched as he disappeared around the corner to return to his own desk. A soft little sigh escaped her lips before she let out a round of sneezes.

“Okay, taking this potion,” she muttered before knocking back the Pepperup Potion. She wanted to be in tip-top shape for her lunch date with Percy.
