What a fun fic this is!

Love Helga's voice and your use of the Welsh. Her observations about Minerva are spot-on.

It is not the way of the Hufflepuff (though often it is entertaining to watch).

Minerva is so cute when she's angry, LOL!

I like the idea of Helga invisibly watching over the castle and watching Minerva. I don't know whether to envy her or feel sorry for her.

Thank you for this detailed and lovely comment. As you might guess, I had never considered Minerva and Helga as a pairing, but such is the fun of this random-assignment fest (some of my other options were even more improbable still!)

Fantastic! I love this yearning, sensible Helga. Her observations of Minerva are spot-on, and the unrequited similarities with Rowena are very touching. I guess that Rowena chose to go 'on' while Helga stayed behind? Helga's touches of Welsh and her old-fashioned turn of phrase give just the right flavour, too.

I think this fic encapsulates one of the most special things about HP fandom: just when you think you've seen it all, along comes a very clever someone with something entirely new :-)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I wasn't at all sure of this fic, because a) the pairing was unusual even for a rare-pair lover like me, and b) because I had to write it in a huge hurry. But I ended up being pleased and have come to quite like Helga.
