- Character A's life plans are completely destroyed by the war - now they have to figure out what they want from life. Character B comes into that.
- Character A is sick of their partners obsession with cats/dragons/books/Quidditch/anything.
- Character A is shocked when they realizes their roommate in wizarding university is going to be B.
- Characters A and B are adopting a child - instead of a baby they end up taking a squib teen under foster care.
- Slytherin character A tries to seduce character B to help them with studies/something else.
- The war is over and everyone's back for their 8th year - why is Character A suddenly taking muggle studies and why can't Character B help obsessing over them?
- It's a good thing character A's uncle has a country house that Character A and their friends can use for the summer.
- Character A is not happy when their friends have set them up on a blind date, but they may forgive them when they realize it's with Character B.
