This post is a reminder to all members of the community that flaming of any kind is not allowed.
Feedback and constructive criticism is always welcome, but to comment or send a pm to the author tearing into them, and the story they wrote will not be tolerated. Anyone who is found to have written flames will be given a warning, and if they do it again they will be banned from the community permanently.
We understand that there are several themes and subjects which are triggers and people will be upset when they see them posted. We ask that you scroll past them rather than reading and flaming. This is the reason why we ask authors to make sure they list all appropriate warnings in the header, and why we ask readers to read each warning carefully. If you don’t like something, then please don’t read it.
There are virtually no rules limiting the content of stories posted to the community, and we don’t want to have to put restrictions on authors as we feel that they should be able to express themselves how they want to. That being said, if you see a story with a warning or subject matter that greatly concerns you then please contact us mods first. Do not contact the author and please don’t report it to LJ before you’ve spoken to us. I am sure that a solution could be found before you do something that extreme.
Other updates:
We have decided that if you write an NC17 story that you post it to your own journal and then just post the header and link to the community rather than posting it directly.
All changes are effective immediately, and the rules page will be changed to reflect this.
We don't enjoy making posts like these, and we hope that we never have to again.
