Pansy smiled as she studied her reflection in the mirror. Her hair was perfect, sleek and shapely, with not a strand out of place, and the diamond encrusted tiara she wore twinkled in the most dazzling way.

Her dress was just how she wanted it, as well; the bridal gown was decorated with jewels and fitted at the top to shape her body nicely before flowing down in layers and layers of fabric which left Pansy feeling like a princess.

Pansy had always wanted to feel like a princess bride, ever since she was little and she and her cousins planned what their weddings would be like. Of course, Pansy had always imagined that she would have a choice in who her groom was.

The Ministry had decided after the war that due to the losses and to boost family morals, those who were of age and single would be paired up with another through means of a magical selection process. Pansy had been paired with Adrian Pucey.

Adrian had been a couple of years above Pansy in school, but she never really knew him well. He wasn’t especially handsome and his family weren’t as well off as many other Pureblood families, but he had a face that Pansy considered cute, and during the dating process of their arranged relationship he had been nothing less than a gentleman, pulling out chairs for Pansy and holding doors.

Three months wasn’t a long enough time to decide whether somebody would make a good husband, but as Pansy had no choice she was pleased Adrian had been good to her in the short period.

It was as Pansy began her walk down the aisle, arm-in-arm with her beaming father, that she realised despite the short amount of time, her marriage with Adrian was going to work.

As he turned around, his face went in a matter of microseconds from nervous to stunned. Adrian smiled brightly, eyes lighting up, looking at Pansy as if he had never seen anything more beautiful; Pansy reckoned he probably hadn’t.

Her father handed her over to her groom, and she gave Adrian a shaky smirk as she stepped up to the platform.

“You look stunning,” Adrian whispered, his words heartfelt. “Are you ready?”

Pansy nodded. “Let’s do this.”
