Author's Notes: I know you were probably hoping for something a little more explicit, but I do hope you still enjoy this. :)

Hermione had always appreciated a nice pair of glasses. As a young girl she'd been jealous of anyone who'd needed spectacles, because they just looked so wonderful perched on the nose, the shine of the frame glinting in the sunlight, the delicate adjusting necessary to get the perfect view of the pages of books. It gave her a shiver of affection whenever she had a Professor with glasses, and they had always been her favourites.

But all her life, her eyesight had been perfect, and no amount of reading in the dark, book pressed firmly to her nose, had affected that. As she grew older she realized it was silly to want something so simple so badly, and looked back with derision at her younger self, putting aside the childish fantasy of hexing her own vision so as to require corrective lenses.

Percy's glasses were gorgeous. The frames were the perfect shiny gold in colour, and he had the most delightful habit of twitching them when he was nervous, his freckled fingers tapping on the edges, sliding them up and down his nose. Sometimes, when she was too distracted to contain herself, Hermione would have the oddest fantasies about them, of reaching over to adjust them herself, pushing them firmly up into place as she looked into Percy's blue eyes.

But Percy was not the Weasley Hermione was most fond of, so she shook such daydreams out of her head and told herself that she was being ridiculous, that there was nothing special about spectacles, that Ron was her perfect mate because of his passion and sense of humour. Percy had glasses and that was all there was about him; she didn't need to look any closer than that.

Later, of course, things with Ron went terribly sour, and Hermione found herself alone and daydreaming again. Percy was Undersecretary to the Minister now, and Hermione, rising quickly up the ranks in Magical Law Enforcement, had many opportunities to communicate with him and learn more about him. Despite his serious and stuffy outward demeanor, Percy had a kindness and a gentle sense of humour himself; he was a Weasley, after all. He was incredibly intelligent; Hermione discovered herself lost in long conversations about Magical Law and customs many a time.

And he still wore those beautiful specs. Hermione watched nimble fingers delicately push glittering gold frames so many times, and each time it gave her a shiver. Somehow it was more powerful than any lingering glance shared between them, any casual touch as they passed one another in the lifts.

Why should she push aside this pleasure, now that she was an adult and knew exactly what it meant? Hermione had always appreciated a nice pair of glasses, and though she had once considered it childish and silly, now that she was older and wiser she decided that she ought to just embrace it.

And so when Percy finally got up the courage to kiss her, one late night spent studying law books in his office, Hermione wrapped her arms around his neck and told him to leave his glasses on. Percy, slightly confused at first, did as she bid him, and it was the most pleasurable night Hermione ever had.
