Applause for you for doing something to have a closer walk with God! Many wish/hope for that, but few of them will do anything to achieve it. I know God will reward you for your actions.
I'm not familiar with Muse, so I can't comment on them. No idea what they sound like or what kinda of message they deliver. I do know that not all secular music is bad for your spiritual health. And I also know that a lot of what is called "christian" is lame. But I don't want to project where I am in my faith on where you are at the moment. If you sense God calling you away from certain types of music, then by all means, go for it.
I'd recommend all of the previously mentioned bands along with 2 online sources: http://www.radiou.com and http://www.air1.com. Both are radio stations that stream over the internet. Radio U plays the harder music of the 2.
Hope all goes well with you and please let us know how things turn out or how we can help in the future.
Muse are amazing, they really take my whole love of music to another level! And yes I do agree with you, many "Chistian" bands are horrendously bad. That's awesome, thankyou for your help! I'm listening to radiou right this moment and it seems rather cool, so far so good.

hey I happen to come across this blog in searching for 'christians that like Muse'...
I recently had the privlege to see them live at Austin City Limits and let me tell you that it was nothin short of mind-numbing. The best live band out there! (minus Matt Bellamy's insistence on interjecting conspiracy theory and politics into every aspect of the presentation).
I love them for the compositional, instrumental, drive/energy to their music. However, lyrically I find myself taking the message with a grain of salt.
Sanctus Real is the only band that comes to mind as being anywhere close...
Any one else have any moral hesitencies when listening to Muse' music (albeit fantasticly stimulating)?
