Early Morning Ramblings
I've been up since sometime between 5-5:30am. Sadly, I still haven't plowed all the way through my cardiology report course. 5:30am seems a little too early to be typing reports that talk about stapling people shut and deflating their lungs. No, I'm not on any happy pills this morning. The reports actually state that kind of stuff.
In other news, I had my weigh-in yesterday for the Biggest Loser contest at my gym. Thankfully, I was down 2 pounds. Woot Woot! I didn't eat all that well this past weekend. So, I was slightly concerned that I might not see a loss. I worked my ass off last week at the gym. Plus, I still haven't had a single drop of soda. Little changes really can make a difference. She also measured my BMI and it dropped by almost 4 pounds. YESSSS! I was so excited. That means the weight I loss last week wasn't just water. It was actual fat. 7 more weeks to go in the contest and I'm feeling good.
My parents are flying in on Thursday for a long weekend. Originally, they were going to drive and arrive here on Friday. Unfortunately, my Dad's back/side has been bothering him and they decided not to drive. I felt bad because the airfare on such short notice wasn't that cheap. Plus, they hadn't booked a hotel yet. I tried to tell them early on that hotel space around here is very limited. You not only need to book in advance, but the rooms aren't cheap. Since they aren't renting a car, they wanted to find somewhere close to the house. That didn't leave us with a lot of options. As it's a busy holiday weekend around here, they are going to have to stay at two different hotels during their stay. The first place didn't have any rooms available on Saturday and Sunday. I feel so bad that they are shelling out all this money to come see us, but I'll be so happy to see them. I haven't seen them since the wedding.
