While watching episodes of Top Chef - Miami, I noticed that the contestant, Hung, is from Las Vegas. I also remembered that Marcel from Season 2 was from Vegas. So, I thought to myself "I wonder if they know each other?"
Vegas is a very crowded and popular city with tons of chefs, but their personalities are quite similar. They are both very arrogant. It seems like they'd get along well with one another.
As I was watching the All-Star challenge, I discovered that I was right. They do know each other. Marcel made mention that he had known Hung for about 5 years. I wonder if he encouraged Hung to try out for Top Chef or if Hung did it after seeing the success Marcel had with it. Of course, Marcel was the most hated contestant on Season 2. Is that really success? He did manage to come in second though.
I was really hoping that the Season 2 chefs would win the All-Star challenge. Other then Marcel, I liked that team better. I was just over on the Top Chef site and it was cool to see what some of the past contestants have been up to.
I'll be sad when the season ends, but I'll have Project Runway to entertain me by then.
