Yeah, I've never exactly thought of Thompson as the caring type, tbh. But I think it sorta works. He's still a bastard, and he's doing things in his own interests, but it's still comforting.
Ahhhh, what an interesting dynamic you have between these two. People are never black and white, and it would be so easy to leave these two as sterotypical two-dimensional "villains2 and leave it at that.
You show Thompson as the typical macho type but caring in his own way, and Candice as having rock-bottom self-esteem ad the way she deals with it... an excellent piece. The dialogue is realistic.
