Favourite Threads of Road Ahead's First Year

Oct 18, 2008 18:19

So, this has been an amazing year and I have to admit, although I write 3 (!!!) characters at this game, I haven't read all the threads... so, I want to know:

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE THREADS FROM THIS PAST YEAR?

They can be threads that were memorable, touching, chilling, funny, heartwarming, or just ones that were fun to write if you wrote them

Yes. Those were all very good. I'm enjoying seeing how they are all moving past that now, as well.

There was a lot I loved at the beginning, with the kids all stuck inside Hogwarts and dealing with things. A lot I couldn't participate in but greatly enjoyed reading.

I also loved Narcissa's birthday party. Rita had a fantastic time there ;).

There are too many to count, but here are a few things I love reading beyond the amazing variety and creativity in general:

~ Delores Umbridge. Seriously, she's creepier than Fenrir... well maybe not, but he's dead.
~ Greg and Luna. I love all things Luna in this game and Greg's adorable awkwardness.
~ Draco. From his fascination with Hermione to his Oedipal complex and his dreams, he is always interesting to read. And I love when he snarks at Neville, too.
~ Severus' Portrait. I love all things snarky and face it, Snape's the master.
~ Harry Potter. I think we have the most amazing Harry. Ever.

Oh, and I can't forget Auror Spencer. Seriously, I want him.

The way George has worked through losing Fred and coming to love Lee is wonderful. Ginny's use of a journal -- including her initial reluctance -- is excellent. There are far too many joys and sorrows to name them all.

Individually for my characters, it's hard to pick favorites but a few stand out as having been fun to write. This one with Bill and Fleur is probably my ( ... )

I still can't decide on threads that I didn't write because there are so so many good ones. But here are my favourites of the ones I wrote.

For Cormac: When he first met Draco and they had lunch. They really are 2 of a kind.

For Fenrir: When he kidnapped Hermione. It was very fun to write with Inell and it really gave him some freedom to let his claws out, so to speak.

For Hestia: When she and Percy went to London and tried to buy a Christmas present for Arthur. Lots of fun to write.

For Katie: The morning after thread with Dean. This was so hard to write because the sex had been completely unplanned and so we didn't know what was going to happen with them. At one point, I thought they were finished, but then Dean said he didn't want to miss the years ahead with Katie and she (and I!!) just went "OMG LOVE YOU SO MUCH."

For Molly: When she says goodbye to Fred before the funeral. It was hard to write, but it felt good to get it out there and I know Molly felt better afterward.
