13 Random facts about Victoria (and a few things about her Muggle)

Thirteen Facts about Victoria Frobisher

1.  She likes to fish, Muggle style, and can't abide a woman who won't bait her own hook.

2.  She has become a very good actress.  Once, upon arriving in a safe house, she steadfastly refused to admit to her own distant cousin that she was anyone other than Susie Barlow from America (and she does a great New England accent), until her Uncle arrived and then she knew it was safe to let down her guard.

3.  Tory tries to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but there are some people, heroes or not, who just rub her the wrong way.  Ron Weasley was one of them (though this might have changed if/when she sees him again)

4.  George Weasley, on the other hand, she has always liked, though she doubts he even knew who she was.

5.  Quidditch tryouts her 5th year were a nightmare.  Not because she wasn't chosen but because she was afraid she might be.   She only did it please her Dad.

6.  And she was greatly surprised when he sent her flowers after she failed, with a note acknowleding he knew why she did it.   And telling her just because he had always wanted to be on the team didn't mean she had to.

7.  Tory had a bit of a hero-worship thing for Hermione, but she outgrew it.  She still respects the older girl, but no longer puts her on a pedestal.

8.  She was taught never to talk ill of the dead, but in her most private moments, she admits to herself that Dumbledor always gave her the creeps.

9.  Her Head of House, however, she aspires to be like, which is one reason she regrets that she is borderline dreadful at Transfiguration.

10.  Sometimes she can look at someone like they are not even there.  It isn't them, it's her.  It's how she survived.  Comparmentalization.  She fears what she will find when the compartment to her parent's fates is opened.

11. Prior to the past year, Tory was pretty much (aside from sometimes being considered aloof when she has never been so), "what you see is what you get".   She never considered changing who she was to make friends because they would be liking a lie.  Now...she's not even sure she likes herself all the time.

12.  it is Victoria or Tory (the last was a nickname her Uncle Edmund foisted upon her to mess with her Great Aunt, but it stuck).  She will not answer to Vicky.  Instead she will simply give the impression that she either does not hear you or that you are talking to someone else, until you address her appropriately.

13.  Obediance and Duty have always been traits of hers.  Now she isn't so sure it wouldn't have been better to disobey more and fought, rather than followed her families wishes and gone into hiding.

A few things about her Muggle (me)

1.  If you ping me on YIM and see "Dennis Creevey" that is because that is who I play in SHH and (technophobe that I am) I don't know how to change it.

2.  I write (poor to midling) fan fic, primarily Neville (my favourite 'major' canon character), sofar only slash, but that could change.

3.  I am not easily offended, but can be paranoid in that respect (as I think I might have offended you when I didnt, and apologize when you feel there is no need).  And, at the risk of TMI, living with my male gay cousing, my bi (female) best friend, I am not easily shocked, so if there were a thread or comment that would be "untraditional' in nature, it wouldn't bother me.

4.  This is only my second RP (and even then I haven't been at it that long) so if you feel there is a need for concrit, it will be taken as such...

5.  I am a huge reader, a movie buff (a bit of a snob when it comes to that).  The last is where my LJ user name comes from...when I met one of my idols (the late movie critic Pauline Kael, who singlehandedly saved "Bonnie And Clyde" and "Taxi Driver" from obscurity) she said that I reminded her of herself as a girl.   Her accolytes were called, yep, Kaellites.  And her reviews of "Blue Velvet. The Fabulous Baker Boys" and so many more said it better than I ever could.

6.  I am a huge fangirl of so many writers in LJ and IJ (including some in RA, and I am sure that number will only grow).

7.  Will NOT be around the days "Sweeney Todd" and "The Golden Compass" are released.

Other than that, I look forward to the game...

Oh and back to Victoria....a post for her will probably not go up till Sunday, it will take a couple of days for her and her Uncle to get the word....and then they will head to Hogwarts as, best they can tell, it is the gathering place.
