"Are you here alone too?" Kayrin asked. "Are there other Klamon watching us?"
"No, other watching other human to Milash Hahnt. I alone too."
"There are Klamon watching the other ranchers?" That thought was worrisome. "What are they going to do to them?"
"Watching, following, this it." He reassured her.
"I was not supposed to see you was I?" She asked. "You were just supposed to watch me."
He tucked his head and scratched behind his ear a moment and looked up with a flash of a shy smile. "Yes, just watch, not see, not speak, just supposed to watch."
Kayrin finally took a bite and chewed slowly. The shadows stretched long as the final warm rays of the sun surrounded them. The birds were noisily returning to their evening roosts. Day was blending into evening. "Well, Teigan Sollit," she finally spoke, "if this is not a good place to be alone at night do you plan on staying with me or will you make me go?"
He sighed and looked off towards the diminishing light. Rubbing his chin he turned back to her. "No make you go. I stay with you and watching. Make fethohln go like kinus." He didn't look entirely happy about the prospect. "Camp? camp with man far away, dark not good." He waved towards the direction she had come from. "Not good for go. Staying good. I staying, you not alone."
"Are you going to be in trouble staying with me?" She asked.
"Trouble." He repeated with a frown.
"Is it going to be bad for you- not good, bad if you stay?"
"Ah," he nodded again and spoke somewhat to himself, "epkuhr, trouble. Not good, bad, prat." He spoke up again to address her. "Yes, no other watching, not see I and you, no trouble. I following you, go back other Klamon," he scrunched his nose and grimaced as he couldn't find the word he wanted. "You go back other man, I go back other Klamon. I speak to Klamon I see you back-with, yes, back with other man."
"You won't be in trouble because they won't know I saw you? You will follow until I return to camp and join the other Klamon then."
"Yes."
"You are going to keep this," she motioned to them sitting around the fire, "a secret."
He looked confused again and muttered "I should have paid better attention, never thought I'd have to use it after he died."
It was Kayrin's turn to think extra hard about what she was going to say. "A secret is something you keep. You don't tell others about it. You don't speak to others about it, you keep it secret. You don't tell the other Klamon I saw you and I don't tell the other humans I saw you. Just you and I know about this."
"Gei'et, secret. Yes, keep this secret. You and I know, no other know."
