i am now gainfully employed as a pharmacy technician in a new, very small retail pharmacy in a big clinic right across from/affiliated with the hospital where j works. my coworkers are chill and i'm learning a lot and i really really like it
going back to school in the fall to study asl at the local community college with the goal of becoming competent enough to get certified as an interpreter. this will take a few semesters but it looks like we're sticking around springfield indefinitely so yeah. also this will help bridge the gap between my linguistics degree and my current job (career?) and also be relevant and really goddamn useful and awesome so that when we have deaf patients i can communicate with them and FINALLY when people ask "well if you studied language in college what the hell are you doing working here" i can be like "LET ME EXPLAIN U A THING"
got a really badass tattoo, the outline of a mermaid, part of what will ultimately be a full-color half sleeve. when my mom finds out i am grounded forever
