2013 is going to have all the movies. (probably spoilery?)

Kick-Ass 2: part of me really hopes Mark Millar is just spouting the big bullshit again and that it won't have every disgusting little bit of the book in it. yes, I want the screen version to not be entirely true to the source material. I haven't even got all the way through reading it because I know some of what lies ahead (see, there's a reason for being a spoiler-junkie) and it's going to be triggery for me. this is no bueno because Kick-Ass is probably in my top 15 films and in my top 5 of the genre.

in better news, hey, they've started filming it wooo

Carrie: also got reminded today that there's a new film with Chloë Moretz & Julianne Moore. all my feels for Chloë pulling off a big-girl role like this; I can't quite picture it and I'm not trying to.

and fuckme Julianne Moore as Margaret White I can already see it in my head and it's super exciting. speaking as a fan of the book, she's going to be brilliant, but there will also be the inevitable comparisons to Piper Laurie and if anyone can execute the role in a "remake" it's her. I read the shit out of that book when I was a kid. would be a good time of year to reread it...

I do love the De Palma movie, and the made-for-TV one with Dualla Kandyse McClure was stylistically more faithful to the book, which is told as third-person from various characters' perspectives interspersed with news articles and magazine interviews. I'd love for the new film to do that, if it doesn't interfere with maintaining an eerie atmosphere. also wondering if it'll take place in the 70s or nowadays or what

Thor: The Dark World: I've been balls-deep in MCU for the last 4 months, but let's get superfluous anyway. Darcy is in it, of course. um. Sif is in it. Loki does something, probably, and I'm sure it'll be sexy and life-ruining. and Hemsworth and his beautiful golden hair. and most of the usual people. yeah.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier: alright, this one's not til 2014 but idgaf, I read some rumors today that have me super-excited. not only is there the title and my Buckyfeeels, and also possible Hayley Atwell, but hints have been dropped that it will be a very SHIELDy film with more Fury, Hill, Clint, and Natasha (since I have no hopes either of the latter two will have their own film), as well as a bit of ClinTasha "romance" whatever the fuck that means. EEEEEEE

lulz, I'm such a twat. went to watch that deleted scene of Cap and I know he's about to look at pictures of his dead friends, but my immediate reaction was "afhalbsdb HE TOUCHED A COMPUTER. IN YOUR FACE, MEME" (and then "IF YOU CAN OPERATE THAT LAPTOP SURELY YOU CAN DIAL THAT GODDAMN STONE-AGE TOUCH-TONE LANDLINE AND TALK TO PEGGY")

other nonsense I am looking forward to:

the theatrical rereleases of Jurassic Park and The Little Mermaid (two of the greatest films of all time ever in the history of forever and ever infinity amen)

The Wolverine (even though I disapprove of the new haircut)

Star Trek XII (I can't be bothered to look up its actual title)

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (the first film is what Jason and I saw together the first time we met in person, it was not a date, I don't care if I ended up kind of marrying him)

Black Wings Has My Angel and Only Lovers Left Alive (because I have a feeling Tom Hiddleston is going to be my new Edward Norton and my male Milla Jovovich, in that I will see anything that asshole is in no matter how terrible it is)

speaking of Norton, Motherless Brooklyn's IMDb page says 2013 but that's a load of bullshit. I picked up the book ten goddamn years ago in my Norton fangirl phase and I cannot recommend it enough, hell of a read, and this douchebag has just been sitting on the goddamn rights the whole time and doing fuck-all about it.
