"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ" (Gal. 1:6-7)

A lot of Americans think that they're hated by countries around the world and they're right, but America usually isn't at the top of the list. The countries at the top of the list are usually neighbors with a lot of history, so it seems like the hatred has more to do with the worldwide wickedness of the human heart, not some America-specific sin (though Americans are sinful like the rest [Romans 3:23], just in ways conducive to our lifestyle).

What do you think about this viewpoint? That some wars can be just (always debatable) and that war is always a result of someone's (not necessarily everyone's) sin:

As for the Christian nation comment, that part always makes me groan. Nominal Christian nation? Sure. Nation actually following after God's own heart? Nah. When I hear that 80% of Americans are Christian and of that, 50% of them pray and even less read the Bible, I keep expecting for the statistician to start laughing. If I told you that I was married, but that I never spoke/listened to my wife, you would assume maybe we were deaf or mute or we really had a terrible, farcical relationship, yet that's what those stats say about America's relationship with God. Most countries fare no better.
