Woah, I'm making a habit of this whole posting-every-5-days crap! That's no good!
But I'm really tired.
I'm not really complaining, though, for now it's the relatively good kind of tired, the one that makes you feel like you've actually done something with your day. Even if said day was spent mostly running around, climbing stairs, figuring out how this stupid university works, climbing more stairs, explaining stuff to new students who are understandably lost (one day I'll have to tell you English-speaking-country-dwellers about the French universities. It might be fun. Or you might lose all your sanity points), picking up my brother at school, putting stuff in the dishwasher, do laundry, etc, etc. Looking back, I didn't achieve that much today, but mostly I feel like I did, which is pretty essential to keep me motivated.
And now I realize I didn't even inform the English-speaking part of the flist about the latest developments!
Yeah, so a few days ago (maybe a week?), I had a looong talk with my parents (the kind of looong talk that always leave me in tears for some reason. Well this one didn't go too well, which might explain it, but.), and they insisted that I should go back to university this year. Of course, I was, um, unenthusiastic to say the least (aaargh I DO NOT WANT TO SPEND THREE MORE YEARS STUDYING), but my parents were kind of adamant, so.
Moodiness, despair, then pathological indifference ensued. But I got over it, mostly. Still vaguely bothered, but, well, what can you do and all that.
So, yeah, this year, I'll be studying English literature and history (among other related subjects). I'm cautiously enthusiastic about the first semester. Dude, I haven't done English Lit for two years... I wonder if I'll still remember anything from my high school classes.
Also I'm starting to get tabletop RPG withdrawal symptoms. Basically, one of my character has decided to start camping in the "inpiration" part of my brain, AND SHE WILL NOT BE MOVED. (Come ON, Lucia, you're a pretty rad and adorable little mad scientist, but I have OTHER STUFF TO WRITE! ...Please?)
Which reminds me, I got a few ideas for this year's NaNoWriMo. And I think I'm gonna settle for the steampunk zombie-hacking fest with flamethrowers and badass bookworms by the ton. I've decided to have IMMENSE AMOUNTS OF FUN. So basically, I'll make a setting and characters and their backgrounds, but I won't try to find a plot. I'll just watch them tearing zombies to pieces with steam-powered shovels and flamethrowers until I get bored, at which point I'll just sprinkle some high drama or romance or moving death scene into the mix, and then maybe get to why there are zombies in the first place and all those puny details I haven't figured out yet. And fun will be had by all. (Also the heroin will be a kelpie. Do Not Ask.)
