It's been a long time since I've used LiveJournal. Interesting.
Same shit, different day. Everyone's grown up, it's been four years, yet I don't think that anything has changed. Of course a lot has changed: almost an Eagle Scout, singing semi-professionally in two choirs and possibly a third, losing Austin to a car accident and Tita Lolit to Breast Cancer and Tita Gilda to Brain and Breast Cancer, finally making Conference All-State Mixed Chorus and "Finding the Superstar," a torn ACL and Meniscus leading up to a silver medal with the Nichols Junior Prep Vikings, NOAC 2009 at Indiana University, Tito Obet finally getting his Tourist Visa so he can finally visit his mother in the states after 50 years, getting a driver's license, finally successfully holding a baby in my arms, flying across the country alone (and on crutches), a separation that lasts over two years, NYSSSA Clown 2008, reading Pride and Prejudice, riverrafting down New River in West Virginia and running down Pickett's Charge in Gettysburg, PA, the disasters in Haiti and Chile...
This is everything I remember in the last ten minutes, most of it happening within the last two years. I said it's been four.
Still, I can't help but feel that nothing has really changed. The world is still turning, people are coming in and out, kicking and screaming. Friends have come and gone but their personalities haven't changed. People live their lives as though nothing happened, nothing will happen.
Keep it up.
So, I will try to post something every now and then, mainly on the NYSSSA SCS page. I encourage disregarding any old posts from here on out, especially the poetry.
