(no subject)
i woke up
my eyes dilating, adjusting to the darkness
my heart was racing, pounding heavily in my chest so that i could hear it
sounds seemed so much louder and sinister in the dark
things came to my senses like they hadn't before:
rustling through the rest of the house,
things outside,
and my own heart still beating wildly.
i felt alive
and despite the dark night
completely awake
my heart wouldn't slow down
i rolled,
streched out limbs,
curled back into a ball
like it was normal
i felt weird...
the pounding in my chest was still very loud
what the heck was going on?
Then a lovely voice in the back of my head said:
"That's what you get for reading right before you go to bed!"
