Where did love come from? I think you know the answer to that. And in my opinion, you can't boil down love to a defintion that you could post online. you know? which is probably why you asked lots of different. but yea, love is LOTS of things. there are all different kinds of love that you feel for different kinds of people.
personally, when i think about love (in a general sense), i think about self-sacrafice. That you would willingly sacrifice your own happiness to make the one you love happy. Or your life, or your son, or your pride. It is caring for other people more then you care about your own wants and desires. That is how you can love people without even knowing them! You can love people half way around the world by simply showing them that you care about them and that you will sacrifice for them.
love is patient and kind. love is not jealous or proud or rude. It doesn't demand it's own way. It's not irritable, and doesn't keep a record of wrongs. It rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through EVERY circumstance.
