Today I had my ACE class. (Alcohol Campus Education) I was dreading it because I thought it was going to be completely pointless, but it turns out that it was kind of interesting and go figure, educational. I got this manual and part of it is being aware of alcoholism. I thought I'd post them and you all can see if you fit the descriptions. Being honest, I fit many of them at the beginning of the year, but now I don't. I'm not saying, and it is not saying that you are an alcoholic if you show these symptoms but if you do then you may be at high risk for developing it and may want to consider changing your habits while you still have power over your choices.

-Begin to drop classes.
-Constantly seek approval and attention.
-Do things against their value system.
-Conflict in their own expectations and their expectations of others.
-Never satisfied with self.
-Low pain tolerance (physical and emotional).
-Always looking for the easy way out.
-Does not take responsibility for own problems (project blame on others).
-Wants help, but will not look for it.
-Will look to others to solve problems.
-Mood swings (easily depressed, non-assertive aggressive behavior).
-Begins to get incomplete's and cut classes frequently.
-Wants instatnt results.
-Has difficult time studying.
-Sets unrealistic goals.
-Fear of failure.
-Interpersonal problems.
-Self-pity.
-Solitary drinking.
-Hiding alcohol.
-All stories begin with "I was so trashed last night!"
-Planning life around partying and drinking.
-Concentration problems and irritability.
-Family history of alcohol problems and/or addictions.

Anyway, consider getting help if you show these sings, or at the very least just talk to someone to see if you really are at risk. You may have these symptoms and not be at risk, but it is better to know. I love you all.
