I'm up with Macsen, as he's awake while everyone else in the house wants to sleep in. Here's an update on the family going from youngest to oldest:
Macsen is now crawling well and pulling himself up to stand at every opportunity. He also grabs, eats, and yanks out hair at every opportunity. Given that he's turning into a lefty (just like his brother), I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to get a bald patch on the left side of my head. My in-law's dogs have learned to keep their tails away from him.
Gavin has gotten much more verbal recently and is talking/asking about everything again. I think he stopped talking as much right around when Macsen was born, which is sort of normal. I've noticed similar improvements in obedience, which is a relief. He's still only 3, so getting him to do certain things can still be a struggle, but it's getting better and he isn't running off into the wild blue yonder as soon as he sees a possible opening every single time (just half the time - I'll take what I can get for now).
I'm splitting my time between tending the kids, the house, and
artfire. My most recent experiment involves taking new photographs of Halloween trick-or-treat stuff to see which style of lead photo will attract the most attention.
Rory was offered a part-time job pretty much out of the blue. The hours aren't too bad, it deals with his field, and his classes this year are such that he feels he can take it without sacrificing his performance in school. So now we have a way to pay for Gavin's pre-school without hardship. It'll bring in a bit more cash beyond that, but we're going to hoard it to cover our expenses next summer when we won't have student loan money to live on. This way we don't have to choose between taking out another loan or finding something to sell off to finance our living expenses.
