Last week I ducked out of interview for Seattle. They signed the lease about two months earlier than they were going to, which meant I would have to break MY lease which isn't up until October, and there is no chance I would be able to plan for a move in that short of notice. Besides, staying in my current store, I know Christmas this year is going to be amazing- and my assistant isn't ready for the store yet. In a way it's sad, because moving dreams have been put on hold until the new year, but I also have received some food for thought that staying in a mid-volume store like mine which is doing well loans me the opportunity to do other projects I likely wouldn't be able to duck out for at a brand new, higher volume store.
For example, I'll be helping out with another store here in a few weeks- very excited!- who should be making more than my shop, but isn't. I'm very excited- my retail support contact person just spent a few weeks there, so I'm in charge of picking up where she left off. I adore that my company's open to giving me extra projects.
On a geeky sidenote- I'm surprised over the torment people are going through on Tumblr over being sorted in the wrong house. I know who I am, I know where I should be, I know what lessons life has taught me to make me value what I do- I'm not concerned over what a sorting quiz says, even if it was written by JK Rowling.
