My cousin got married this weekend. It was awesome--except for the fact that it was all the way in Milwaukee. Nine hours is a long time to spend in a car. (For some reason, she did not plan her wedding with my convenience in mind, I can't imagine why.)
She was beautiful beyond reason. The music was lovely. The food was...insane? Divine? Perfection? I don't have enough superlatives. It's a good thing the food was (insert adjective here), because we needed to eat a lot of it to fuel all the dancing. Hours and hours of dancing. I had such a blast! The only person having more fun than me on that dance floor may have been my year-old nephew, who charmed everyone.
I also got to hang out with my niece and nephew. We swam, and played at the park. (I still play on swings, but I had forgotten how much fun a slide could be!) The lessons learned from this were: 1) There is no floating meditation in a pool containing a two-year-old, and 2) When you let a two-year-old plan your day, you will have fun.
I got to meet lots of interesting people, and hang out with some relatives I rarely get to see. I ate, drank, sang, and danced. I am glad to be home.
