One-Act Competition
Three days later- still VERY, very happy.
Yesterday was another one of those "best days ever" days. I know ten years from now, I'll never remember those moments, but that's why I'm going to put them down RIGHT NOW!
I wanted to KILL Ashley yesterday. Around 1pm most of my cast was already there to practice for the one-acts. Ashley kept leaving, not paying attention, and generally was off in her own little world. Around 2pm, Austin showed up, and I was like, "where's your costume?"
"I thought you had it."
"No!" So we had to find him a costume amongst everyone else's. Does anyone remember the little prince's costume in Beauty And The Beast? The blue one? Austin had to wear a costume made for a nine-year-old! Not only did he not complain, he wore it graciously.
Well, because of the stress of Ashley and Alexandra and the show being THAT DAY, I needed air, so I went outside, and Austin followed me in his very short blue prince outfit. Aww! He told me to calm down, and kissed his hand and put it to my lips. I thought this was a very wonderful thing for him to do. I did calm down a little bit. And then, we both stood up. "You know what?" he said. I looked at him and we both said together, "my stomach hurts. Get out of my head!" and started laughing. It was great :-D
Into the rehearsal time, everything was going wrong. We knew that we couldn't learn those two songs, and I was major stressing. As the show started, my legs were shaking, and I was just generally, ugh. Well, during the show I was also sitting right beside Austin. He saw my nervousness and put his arm around me, his face inches from mine, his lips seeming closer at every word... the auditorium was packed with guests and actors, and he was calming me down. "Don't worry, when I go on, we're going to be great!" he told me. In an instant, the world seemed better and brighter. He was not even two inches from my face when......
"KRISTENA! KRISTENA! When do we go on???" It was Helena. He pulled back, giving me the space that I need to answer a question as a director. I gave her the answer and gave him a mild smile. Great...
Well, after three shows, it was our turn to perform. We were ready early, so we started. The show was WONDERFUL! When Austin came on, he was Drew-like and Austin-like, a pompous, metrosexual prince. It was CRAZY! He said things like, "Do these pants make my butt look big?" teeheehee. Oh, it was COMPLETELY exciting!
Then they told us we had 10 minutes to mingle before the results came in. Ah! We were SOOOOO nervous. During the intermission, I asked Austin if he was going to the cast party. "Only if I can get a ride." I found one for him, and Tiffany got involved....
"Why did you do that???"
"Do what?"
"Why did you tell him you'd take him home? I was supposed to take him home. You ruined everything! I'm sick and tired of you doing this!" and she stormed off.
Well, the results were about the be announced. Austin grabbed my hand, and I grabbed his, and then I put my other hand on top of his, and then he put his other hand on top of mine and we leaned in real close.... "The winner of the one-act competition is the production of.... SSSSSSSSSSSCinderella!"
We all jumped up and Austin grabbed me and hugged me. I loved him so much at that moment! Then I kissed him on the cheek and he kissed mine. It was sooooo exciting to win!!!!!!!!!
WE WON BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!
Nichole was PISSED OFF! That was the biggest joy! So now we're gonna have haters, but you know what? We got a PERFECT SCORE with as much as we did wrong. PERFECT SCORE. That's saying something!
At the cast party, me and Austin crooned, "Our Love Is Like A River, Peaceful and Deep" to each other. It was so fun! The cast party was great. The only non-Cinderella cast member who went was Johnny. I can't believe I was really all over Austin all night... flirting and what-not. I just want to kiss him. He has the softest lips.
Now off to work to flirt with Josh!
