Creeping in..
Whew... I've like been so out of touch on LJ. Do try to read... haven't posted in forever... although I've never been a really frequent poster.
Headed to Ocala late tonight for our Operation Serpent Wing airsoft event tomorrow. Should be about 125-150 players... mid-sized event but at the great Waynes World of Paintball field in Ocala. Really an amazing field for scenario events. Theme is contemporary Columbia so we have teams representing and uniformed for US Forces, DEA, FARC-EP guerillas and the Norte de Valle Cartel. Had a LOT of guys jump on the Cartel this time and think we'll be seeing a lot of flowered shirts and Miami Vice suits with SMGs and chromed pistols. A bunch of them are really digging the cartel this time. And of course like every one of our Columbian events... there'll be plenty of blossoming white clouds of "drugs" blown across the field by demo teams taking out the drug labs. Yeah... I'm such a dork.
GenCon around the corner. I've written two scripts for Cthulhu Live to run this year. The Green Fairy is 1890's Paris... think it'll be a really excellent run. Finishing up Arcanum Imperii, set in the court of the Roman Governor of Macedonia during the civil war between Octavian and Marc Antony. GenCon will be fun. Will be busy helping run the Skirmisher booth but compared to TerrorWerks at Origins... it'll be like a vacation! :-) Heck... of course TerrorWerks was a blast and a huge hit... just exhausting.
After GenCon I'm turning right around for Operation HammerStrike... Labor Day weekend. Our biggest airsoft event of the year. Should be about 250-300 participants. Heck... and you think TerrorWerks was exhausting!?!?! It's all good though. Good money-maker and the guys live for this facility. After Labor Day weekend... the big summer con and event season slows tremendously.
