I recommend not reading the below discussion question unless you have already finished the book, as it is a bit of a spoiler.
After the Japanese interrogators point out the parallels between Pi's two versions of his story, they mention that the Tiger is Pi. But since Pi is present in both versions, I believe it is more that the Tiger represents something about Pi that he got to know during his journey.
Do you agree with this assesment? If so, what part of Pi's personality do you think the Tiger represents, exactly, and how did this aspect both frighten Pi and save Pi's life?
