Help!

Hello all!

I had some disturbing things going on on my LJ and because of that I would love to lock my LJ and make it friends only from now on.
As you all know by now, I'm a total idiot when it comes to such things so could someone please explain to me how to do that?

God. I wish I'd known there was a single command.. I went and hand locked every single entry *head desk*

I use custom groups a lot too. Because sometimes there are things you want your bestest friends on your f-list to know but not everyone.

It will work, I have my LJ set up that way. What it does is default every post to friends only, but you can make individual posts public after you post them by editing them and just changing the "Show this entry to" drop-box at the bottom of the screen from "Friends" to "Everyone (Public)".

Like tularia said, the way to set the default to friends only is to go to the Admin Console page, type or copy&paste the command set newpost_minsecurity friends and click the "execute" button.
