Woo! Part 17 of the BSG AU where pretty much everything in season 4.0 and 4.5 was hallucinted by Felix Gaeta while being tortured by Cylons. AU after the Temple of Jupiter episodes in season three. This is tagged ptsdfic.

I like that Lee is reluctantly figuring out that things are not okay on good ship Galactica, that Kara is not okay, and that however badly manipulated Gaeta was by the Cylon torture it seems real to him only because they based the lies on a foundation of truth. It's painful, but he's as much a part of what needs to change as his father and Kara.

He is part of the problem. His complacency is part of why his father was increasingly getting worse - to a point Bill relies on Lee to be "the voice of reason" and Lee has been... off in his own little world. Kara would be better if Lee had been willing to open his eyes sooner to her issues.

I continue to adore Cottle. He pushes and pushes, and now will have "to do something different" (very worrisome), all the while, showing great understanding and concern for Gaeta. He's exactly the type of person you want as a doctor heartfelt compassion combined with perception, intelligence, and a willingness to tell the hard truths.

Cottle is acting like Felix's dad. I think part of Cottle's own issue is that by dint of being "the only doctor", his own collaborating behavior is excused. Part of what Cottle is implying to Lee is that he, Jack Cottle, was hardly secretly plotting to throw bombs at Cylons on New Caprica. He was doing operations on them and basically doing what he could to keep people alive. Part of *his* guilt is knowing that unlike Gaeta, who can at least point to the whole code business, Cottle did pretty much nothing to *fight* the Cylons... and yet he is universally respected while someone like Jammer is murdered, and someone like Gaeta is almost murdered.

Felix definetely is stubborn.A lot of his refusal is fear based. He is very frightened by what will happen to him if the truth comes out.

He assumes that in the end, he will be blamed.
