So.... Stephen Colbert is going to take David Letterman's place....
I'm genuinely uncertain how I feel about it.
I think Colbert is wickedly funny but I also think a lot of his appeal is that The Colbert Show is an extended riff on Bill O'Reilly. If he's not going to "be in character" - although I think that's the better choice overall - I think he might lose some audience.
I also don't know that he's ever been one to do a comedian monologue.
On the other hand, maybe the Late Show will finally become watchable. I was never a Letterman fan.
