it's been a long week

I finally feel closer to human at least. It only took most of the week and we've barely started today so we'll see how it all goes. I got caught in one of those; don't feel well, don't sleep well, feel worse, rinse, repeat, cycles. I still haven't sleep well, but I slept poorly for longer than usual and that's a good thing ( Read more... )

Megan Mullaly was On "Will and Grace" if you remember that sitcom from the 90s. She was neither Will nor Grace though - she played Grace's boss and she acted very similar to this character on Breaking In. I didn't actually care for the characters of Will and Grace that much, I liked the side characters - I kept watching for Sean Hayes and Megan Mullaly. Then for awhile she had a talk show that was hysterical. She also does a lot of theater work (I guess she can sing).

So, I am actually a fan of hers, which is why I was so surprised that I don't like her on Breaking In. The character just feels like a bad fit for the show. I mean, if they wanted someone to buy out Oz and give him headaches by having a boss - they should have gone with a straight-laced, upright, serious, business type man to counter-balance Oz's zaniness, instead of using Megan's character who is also zany.

I mean, the show has been fine this season, it just doesn't feel quite like it did last year and I wish they hadn't messed with a good thing. But at least this way, we are getting enough episodes that they will finally release them on dvd!

they should have gone with a straight-laced, upright, serious, business type man to counter-balance Oz's zaniness huh, yeah, I didn't think of that. That is the standard formula for this kind of show isn't it? Maybe that's why they didn't do that? Their trying something new perhaps? Idk, but Megan's character is annoying. Tho I really like the British girl character, she's a good fit. Come to think of it, maybe she's the one fulfilling the straight-laced role?

Yeah, that's probably true, but if so she isn't really hard-edged enough to go up against the like of Oz and his team. .
