It's a red hot saturday night

I would so like to be tucked up in bed happily winging my way to a drug assisted sleep right about now. The Boy is away at a competition however and I need to stay awake to go pick him up when the buses get in. *big sigh* It's so hard being a parent.

They made finals though, so that's another top 5 finish to add to their list. I won't know til he gets home exactly how they placed, but I'll be sure to mention it at least once when next I post. *g*

I got Steve Carlson's Plugged Into London cd. It is a-mazing! His voice when he lets it all hang out and just belts out the lyrics is a joy to hear. It reinforces my desire to see him live because it must truly be something.

Graffiti6 are coming to Omaha in april! I am so very excited for that. Also, Chad Michael Murray is gonna be in Omaha for the Omaha Film Festival. Makes me kinda wanna do inappropriate fan things. Alas, I'm working the whole weekend, but I'll be sure to have pervy thoughts. like that's a hardship

So, I can get Jamie Scott, and Chad M Murray but I can't get Kane or Steve or Manns or Riley? Something don't add up here. It's not fair damnit *pouts* Maybe for Red Sky if they can get their shit together and actually try to recruit contemporary, relevant musicians.

Speaking of musicians, there's a couple of really excellent songs out there right now that caused me to buy whole albums (or ep's as the case may be)

First we've got Dawes Little Bit of Everything. I'd recommended a previous track of theirs, Time Spent In Los Angeles, if you'll remember. This one sent me over the top for them though. The verse about the wedding kills me totally dead. So, I picked up the album and it's totally worth it.

Then we've got Of Monsters and Men Little Talks They're from Reykjavik and are unbelievably brilliant. Go! Watch the video! You won't regret it.

We've another non-American, Gotye Somebody That I Used To Know He's Australian by way of Belgium interestingly. I heard a radio interview with him and he's a doll. They also played some other tracks off the album and I was very impressed. I have it on order and ought to be getting it next week sometime I think.

Just so you don't think I'm a total emo-music-elitist listen to this: Toby Keith Red Solo Cup It will totally get up in your head and you'll be humming it at random intervals.

Oh! I also made this post a sticky at the top of my lj. I know lots of fuss was made over the last round of changes on lj and I decided that I would put my money where my mouth was. There's no point in being a bitchy nuisance if you're not willing to back it.

And now I'm going to do my potato impression til The Boy texts me to say he needs a ride. I hope it's soon.
