Oh thank the little gods, it's monday again

Holy crap was it a packed full weekend. I might be the only person who's happy to start the work week. At least it means a predictable schedule with set down time. I swear it was pillar to post since friday. Let's see, it was a double shift friday, a short shift saturday followed by grocery shopping and house cleaning and a shift on sunday. Yep, it was a full weekend, I didn't even see the internet except through my phone. I will get to my flist and e-mail, I swear!

The Boy had two competitions this weekend. They had one friday which was a points/critique sort of thing where every group over a certain score was recognized. They brought home a plaque for that one, scoring in the top five he's pretty sure. On saturday it was an all day event (6am -12am and damn does that make my day long) and they brought home three trophies from there. Second in their division, second overall (outta 20 odd groups) and first in vocal performance.

His choir is really doing fantastic this year. I'm so proud of all the work he does for it. In two weeks they have the biggest competition yet. It'll be something like 20 groups just in their division. They'll be going up against some of the best schools in the region. We're talking schools that spend huge money per student, rehearse through the summer breaks and practically tour during competition season. He said if they take third he'll be happy.

Anyway, that's march 3, so if you all can send good thought his way then I'd appreciate it.

I made out like a bandit last week. I got packages in the post three days! (I love getting packages in the post, even when I know what it is it makes me happy) I got a replacement for my first Kane keyring that broke, my Steve Carlson Plugged Into London cd and SCUK bracelets (The Boy said he will be borrowing them, that better not mean permanently like with so many other of my things damnit)and Southland season one (yeah, no picture there). I really need to stop shopping online. It's so damn easy though and there's stuff I want.

Oh! Work yesterday may have been boring, but I had an excellent sales day. I don't know what's up and I don't want to jinx it, but the last couple sundays have been very good. Nearly better than the run up to christmas. I don't have any control over it I know, but as long as sales are good the boss is happy with me and a happy boss means he don't mind so much when I take my pay in old comics. Speaking of which, I got some more back issues of Iron Man. I now have a little over half the books between 1 & 100 in volume one. There are 332 issues plus annuals total in volume one but the stuff outta the 80's is easier to find. Plus it feels way more exciting to get the early books.

I got some more of the fic I'm writing for mutedbyfear done too. I think it's in the home stretch, I just have to find time to work on it when I'm not feeling so flighty that every dust-beam and temperature change distracts me. Sadly, I did not even glance at the file for the Gabriel BB. I know, I know, I'll get to it, I promise. I won't be scrambling at the last minute.

Last night The Boy and I went to Cats. (our christmas present from me if you'll remember) I did not know what the show was about going in. Yeah I know, you're going Ranua, how could you not know? It's Cats for gods sake, one of the longest running musicals on Broadway. *shrugs* it happens. Turns out there is no plot anyway. It was fun and the dancing was amazing and even the songs that aren't Memory were great. And holy crap! the costumes and the set were fabulous as well. So it was worth it. And now I can say I've seen it. It's like reading Dickens I think, you can't say you're educated in the arts without having seen it.

I also managed to finally get caught up on Justified saturday night. (it's the only tv I managed to watch last week) Damn, is that show more brutal this season or what? Boyd and Ava are fucking awesome with their taking over of the crime in Harlen and poor Raylan can't catch a break. It might be a little too over the top though. I mean, if this is the final season I can see it going out this balls out, but the pacing is so fast it's like it's racing to a spectacular crash ending. Eh, gotta wait and see.

And finally, in goal news, I may have blogged last week, but still no exercise. If thinking about it translated to results I'd be so damn buff. This week, I will exercise on at least one day. No grand plans, just one day this week I will do a 20 minute or so work out. Feel free to heckle me. Gotta find motivation somewhere.
