Wednesday Game
Well, now. Today was exciting.
Day of the Big Poker Game in-game. Because we were doing a big gambling event, the local crime boss got wind of it, and wanted a cut of the action. To avoid trouble, we gave her one, and let her administrate. We didn't want the money as much as we wanted information on who kidnapped us, which was the main goal of the game.
In the meantime, Pulvis (my character) witnesses one of the other PCs insulting and harrassing a gnome magic items dealer. We later find out this character has powerful friends, and we find this out when he shows up later at the Big Game with an arch-lich (that's a lich powered by positive energy, unlike other undead) that happens to be his lover. (!)
So, a couple things go down. Right during the final round, a Priest of Loki tries to steal the grand prize: four daggers of Fenris. Our Party priest sees him, though, and then ganks him with a Slay Living spell. This insitgates a fight with the Archlich, who appears to be using it as an excuse for bringing down the Priest for the earlier insults and threats. Another PC tries to then take the gnome hostage - it's at this point we find out the gnome is actually a breed of angel in disguies. But the lich doesn't back down, and the PC ends up cutting the angel's throat. Moments later, the fight is over, and the angel is bleeding out. The crime boss wants to make an example of the angel.
My character? Taking the dying angel into the other room on excuse of getting him out of the way, heals the angel, and lets him escape. This gets everyone pissed at him, most of all the crime boss, who has now lost face. One of the other PCs has to then fawn and scrape in order to get me out of trouble...and during the course of this, we lose the Daggers of Fenris to her as compensation for my life.
The thing that I find that's ironic here? I'm the assassin and worshipper of Destruction and entropy, and I might be the nicest guy in the party. I'm nicer than the aasimar priest of Helios. That was sure a tense moment, but made for a great roleplay point. :)

- "As long as the daggers don't get away, we don't care so much about him."
- "Hey, I'm on fire, here!"
- "Only slightly, you're not really trying."
- "Your character is less rapier wit, and more rapier."
- "Just because I worship entropy, doesn't mean I can't be a nice guy!"
