A couple of things that have been annoying me lately...
1. EVERYONE and everything seems to be collecting for Hurricane Katrina. Every department store has a collection box; every television station has a commercial from some celebrity or organization urging donations, and even the frat boys at college were collecting donations for the Red Cross. In a flippant moment, I thought "thank GOD, because I had no idea anyone was donating!" Seriously, I think we are all aware of how to contact the Red Cross to donate. There is nothing wrong with hurricane relief funds, but I become wary of corporations that illicet funds from their shoppers for a good cause, instead of just donating money themselves.
2. Commercials that try to sell their product by announcing that their product is for MEN. Mostly in reference to Chevolet, who produced a line of radio advertisements for a pick-up truck and denouncing unmanly behavior. Fuck off.
And of course, good luck again to those in the path of Hurricane Rita. And for those of you who don't make it (god forbid), dibs on the I-Pod.
