I have not posted in here in forever. I figured I would drop an update.
Along with K-mart, I have been doing some work for a company called Baseball Info Solutions. I drive up to the Red Barons game a few times a week (when they play home games), score the game, and send it in on the computer. I get a small fee for my work, I get to see the game for free, and I can write off the mileage and other miscellaneous expenses from my taxes. It is very enjoyable. This summer I want to try and see as much baseball as I can, since I finally have a reliable vehicle.
June 1st saw a trip to Binghamton, NY to see the Binghamton Mets. While it sounds like a haul, it is actually just an hour and a half from my home. The team played a 10:30am game, so it made for a perfect day trip. I forgot to bring sunscreen, so by the end my arm matched my work shirt. Along with Binghamton, I had an opportunity to see Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. That is a super nice park, and worth the trip. Still, I far prefer the minor league baseball experience. Everything is less expensive, easier to get to, and you can sit closer to the action. Megan noted that in Philadelphia she felt disconnected from the action, and I agree. If you get a chance, go see a minor league game.
The last week has been unbearable in terms of weather. My room is a converted attic, and the air conditioner worked well enough to keep the room surviveable. Sometimes I hesitate to bitch, because it seems snotty to complain that one's air conditioning is inadequate. I just do not like the heat, and the fact that I was the one NOT complaining most of the winter gives me a fair right to do so.
Besides the semester break, that about covers everything.
