What I have Learnt...

Here be a short list of things I have learnt while travelling, because I am bored of looking at flights, and feel like doing something more interesting for a minute:

- Cars in Krakow do not stop for Zebra Crossings. Neither do Horse and Carriages. Why they bother having crossings at all, I do not know. The safest way to cross the road is to make sure you are with at least 5 other people. This can involve long waits.

- There are surprisingly few laundries at hostels, leading to the next point:

- Clothes that go into a backpack dirty, and come out more than 3 days later are miraculously clean.

- Most people can speak english better than you can speak their language, so you WILL end up making a fool of yourself by asking a question in halting [insert language here] and being answered in near-perfect English.

- The only people that AREN'T brillian at English are invariably 'English Speaking' tour guides.

-School Groups in Hostels are evil.

-Hostel beds invariably squeak if I am sleeping on them.

- It is useful to read the doors in Hostels - they tell you what to do. IE: Tokens for te washing machines are available from reception, so there is no need to keep trying to shove coins into the machine.

- You become desperate to hear even the smallest bit of news from home and it is very disappointing to open email and find out that the only people who love you are your parents (hint hint people...)

- Making plans sucks, especially if you are me. I have lost count of what version of things we are on to now!

Okay, that'll do for now. Off to Prague to fly to Istanbul, tonight!
