Goat!

I found some goat meat at one of the supermarkets here. It was sold with the skin on (but hair removed). I got a little over 1lb and tried to make a stew. Fail.

Since the butcher cut it into small chunks for me, I assumed that the skin was to be eaten as well. Don't. The skin has sebaceous glands in it, and those glands still contain oil. Ya know how your head gets kind of greasy and smells funny after awhile of not being washed? Yeah, that's the oils that come out of sebaceous glands. Upon cooking, the goat's skin released its oils into my stew, and that made it smell and taste kind of nasty.

To answer my question when originally preparing the stew: NO. Do not leave the skin on when cooking goat meat.
