What Do You Have To Say? - Writing: Makes Me A Better Writer
The biggest influence in making me a better writer has been role playing online in forums with other people that enjoy writing as much as I do. When you're role playing with someone (in a literate thread, of course), you get to experience so many different styles of writing and so many different voices that can help you to develop your own. And, on the off chance that it happens, you may come across a role player that happens to be more skilled that you. I always take the opportunity to broaden my horizon by paying close attention to the details put into each post, and learning more sophisticated vocabulary is always a huge plus. (I just learned the word 'trellis' the other day, in fact.) So, really, my biggest influence that has made me a better writer is, in fact, analyzing other people's writing and branching off of my own with theirs.
