The American dream or what should a carrier woman do to become a Stepford wife?

I love the core of the American Dream - the family, the beautiful wife, the providing husband and the obeying children. Well, I am a single and divorced; my daughter is the rebelling teenage so maybe there are the reasons why I really-really-really love this dream.

A friend of mine, actually a close one, the American man (one marriage, one divorce and he occasionally found himself settled down in Scandinavia) got married recently. The wonderful big American wedding, the perfect bride dress and I couldn’t help crying - the happy people met each other and decided to die together, well, they will not - they are separating now - one year is over and nothing is perfect anymore. So sad. So hurting. I guess you have similar stories to tell.

I saw the Stepford wives - I will not tell you the plot (I will not destroy your evening) - for me this movie is about a carrier woman. I am a carrier woman, I earn good money, I am overstressed and I can be really bitchy some time. Do you think we deserve love when we cancel a diner to prefer an evening in front of PC, when we break our promises to please a customer, when we boss with men since they are not so busy as we are? I guess we are annoying when we behave the way we do. I guess we should be changed. And what should be better than to put a chip into my brain - I keep my looks but change my behavior - I will do everything a man wants me to do. What a dream. What a relationship. What a concept - you say and I do so.I am actually dreaming about an obeying man. I’d love to have this kind of man - I am just not sure I would be able to love him....

The Stepford wives is a good movie. See it. Enjoy it.
